A fellowship opportunity is currently available in the Policy Research, Analysis, and Development Office (PRADO), within the Office of the Associate Director for Policy & Strategy at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. PRADO assesses, develops, and translates evidence showing the health and economic impact of policy through analyses of high priority interventions to inform decision makers and public health practitioners.
This project will provide an excellent training opportunity for the selected participant to gain experience conducting statistical analyses on a broad range of public health topics using data from the American College Health Association (ACHA)'s Connected College Health Network (CCHN), a data warehouse designed to enable data-driven decision-making that results in the improved health of college students nationwide. CCHN connects several existing projects, including the ACHA-National College Health Assessment, College Health Surveillance Network, Healthy Campus 2020, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, and ACHA Institutional Profile Survey.
Under the guidance of the PRADO mentor, CDC disease subject matter experts, and ACHA data specialists, the participant will be involved in these additional learning opportunities:
Designing project proposals and data analysis plans
Creating, updating, analyzing and managing large data sets
Contributing to the analysis of data from CCHN
Preparing statistical and analytic reports and presentations
